Terms of Service

Short version: We do honest work at honest prices. 65% deposit before any work begins. 35% balance before handover. You own everything we create for you once payment is complete. We retain the right to use completed work in our portfolio.
1. About CraftConnect SA
CraftConnect SA ("we", "us", "our") is a digital enablement agency owned and operated by Julius Maritz, based in Jeffreys Bay, Eastern Cape, South Africa. We provide website design, digital marketing, social media management, Google Business Profile services, and related digital enablement services to South African small businesses.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By engaging our services, requesting a quote, or using our website, you agree to these Terms of Service. These terms apply to all projects and services provided by CraftConnect SA. A signed service agreement or written confirmation of a quote constitutes acceptance.
3. Services
CraftConnect SA offers the following service categories:
- Digital Enablement Core (brand foundation, social media setup, Google Business Profile, WhatsApp Business)
- Website design and development (Essential, Professional, Premium tiers)
- Monthly retainer services (content creation, social media management, ongoing digital support)
- Website hosting and domain management
- Custom digital projects (quoted at R375/hour)
The specific scope, deliverables, and pricing for each engagement are set out in the quote or service agreement provided to the client.
4. Payment Terms
- Deposit: 65% of the total project fee is required before any work begins. No exceptions.
- Balance: The remaining 35% is due before website handover and launch, or delivery of final assets.
- Monthly retainers: Invoiced on the 1st of each month. Due within 5 business days.
- Hosting: R275/month per website. First month free; billing begins month 2.
- Payment method: Via Yoco (debit and credit cards). No cash or EFT unless separately agreed in writing.
- Late payment: Work may be paused on projects where payments are overdue by more than 7 business days.
5. Revision Rounds
- Essential packages: 2 revision rounds included
- Professional and Premium packages: 3 revision rounds included
- Additional revisions are charged at R375/hour and require written approval before commencing
- A "revision round" is one consolidated set of feedback. Multiple feedback submissions do not constitute a single round.
6. Client Responsibilities
To ensure timely delivery, the client agrees to:
- Provide all required assets (logo, photos, text, business information) within the agreed timeframe
- Respond to draft reviews and requests for feedback within 5 business days
- Ensure all provided content (images, text, logos) is either owned by the client or properly licensed for use
- Designate a single point of contact for project communication
Project timelines are directly dependent on client responsiveness. Delays caused by late asset delivery or slow feedback are not the responsibility of CraftConnect SA.
7. Ownership and Intellectual Property
- Upon receipt of full and final payment, all website files, logo adaptations, Canva brand kits, social media assets, and content created specifically for the client are fully and exclusively owned by the client.
- CraftConnect SA retains the right to use all completed client work as portfolio examples in its own marketing, including screenshots, case studies, and website demonstrations.
- CraftConnect SA retains ownership of any proprietary tools, templates, frameworks, or systems used in the delivery of services. These are licensed for use in the client's project but are not transferred to the client.
8. Monthly Retainer Terms
- Retainer services are billed monthly in advance.
- Cancellation requires 30 days' written notice (WhatsApp or email).
- No lock-in contracts or early termination fees.
- On cancellation, all content created up to that point is delivered to the client, and all account access is transferred.
- Retainer hours are capped at 6.5 hours/month per client. Additional work is quoted separately.
9. Website Hosting
- Hosting is provided via Domains.co.za on South African servers (LiteSpeed NVMe, 99.9% uptime SLA).
- Hosting includes free SSL, daily off-site backups (Acronis), and DDoS protection.
- If a client cancels hosting, CraftConnect SA will provide all website files within 5 business days to allow migration.
- CraftConnect SA is not liable for downtime caused by the hosting provider's infrastructure failure beyond our control.
10. Limitation of Liability
CraftConnect SA's liability in connection with any project is limited to the total fees paid for that specific project. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages, including but not limited to loss of business, loss of revenue, or loss of data.
11. Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of South Africa. Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of South Africa.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version will always be available at craftconnectsa.co.za/terms.html. Continued use of our services after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
